The UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital NICU Renovation focused on transforming an existing newborn nursery space into a 1,000 SF continuing care nursery within the neonatal care unit.
The project involved demolishing and reconfiguring the existing continuing care nursery, newborn nursery, and formula room, along with all integrated systems in the space. As a critical high-impact unit, the renovation had to be executed seamlessly without interrupting traffic, care in the NICU suite, or operations in the adjacent patient rooms and nursing station.
Located within critical care units and directly above the ICU, this project required careful coordination and noise mitigation to avoid disruption to other departments. System modifications included HVAC, electrical, medical gas, security, fire protection, and more. Strict infection control protocols ensured the safety and comfort of patients and staff throughout the remodel.
The result is a modernized continuing care nursery that enhances the hospital’s ability to serve its youngest patients, while reflecting Brinkman Construction’s commitment to professionalism, precision, and compassion in sensitive healthcare environments.
